This is one of my favorite questions to answer-and such a good question! I shoot with a mixed approach of both photojournalistic and traditional. What this means is that I want to capture your wedding day as it really happens. I want to capture real moments and emotions. But, OF COURSE we are going to take some beautiful posed pictures too!! As your wedding photographer I want to make sure that your images tell your unique love story so that you can look back at your pictures in 30 years and be taken back to an exact moment and feeling.
This is a tough one to answer as all weddings (and all brides!) are different. This will heavily depend on whether you want to dedicate an hour to photos after the ceremony or just head on over to the reception! If you give me a timeline of your wedding day I can better answer this question for you. I never limit the number of images that I will shoot, edit or give you. So rest assured, I do my packages based on time covered not the number of images that I’m willing to edit!
YES! The "magic hour!" This is the hour or two surrounding sunrise/sunset. It provides a nice warm glow-perfect for that romantic feel!
YES!! I love to travel and will gladly travel for your wedding! I am based in Aiken, South Carolina (and Georgia-it really just depends when you catch me!) and regularly photograph all throughout South Carolina and Georgia! Outside of GA/SC? No problem! If you have any questions about travel and travel fees-just shoot me a message:)
As a photographer I've come to find that the CD/DVD is becoming more and more obsolete. Don't get me wrong, I love getting things in the mail more than anyone! But, let's be real, most computers come sans disk drive now. SO.. What I do is upload your images to an online gallery where you will be able to download all the full resolution digital images straight to your desktop! With the online gallery you can share links with friends/family and order products/prints! This is faster, easier, and more environmentally friendly than snail-mail!
Yes, of course! I love shooting engagement sessions for multiple reasons! First off- it's the perfect time for you to get comfortable in front of my lens. (Don't worry-most people hate being in front of the camera (including yours truly)! So if you start experiencing pre-photo jitters that is totally normal! We'll get you through it and you’ll be able to walk away unscathed with pinterest worthy photos! As a major bonus, you'll get all of those jitters out of the way before the wedding day. So, once the big day arrives I'll know how to best photograph you. The engagement session is also a great time for you to do a trial run with your wedding day hair/makeup. Engagement photos can be used for save-the-dates, guest books and thank you cards!
Yes, I do! I hand edit each and every photo in your gallery. I NEVER batch process my images or send my photos out to be edited by a third party.
Online galleries are posted within 4-6 weeks of your wedding date. I do my absolute best to get them to you sooner though! Trust me, I want to get you your photos just as badly as you want to receive them! However, I always want to make sure that every image receives the love and attention it deserves so that you have the perfect family heirloom!
This is my most common question after contracts are read over! It can be a very confusing subject in the photography world. Copyright just means that I am the creator of the photograph. You will have full print rights and will be free to print, post and share to your hearts content!
My editing process is pretty simple. You get everything that isn't a true outtake (eyes closed, Uncle Ed walking in front of the lens etc). So, if it isn't a true outtake or duplicate you can rest assured that it's in your gallery. The images that aren't selected for the final gallery are not archived and therefore aren't available.
The number of images in the final gallery depends on a few different things. Every wedding day is so very different! If you want more coverage you can always add on a second shooter! Second shooters are a great way to capture different vantage points (for example: the first kiss and Moms tears or that private moment with Dad before he walks you down the aisle). There are several advantages to having a second shooter and I'd be happy to discuss your day further with you to help determine what would be the best fit for you!
Of course! I never book other jobs on wedding days for this very reason! My overtime rate will only ever go into effect with your permission/approval for continued coverage.
Did you really just try and ask me what happens if I die?! Kidding. Life happens. It's kind of my mantra. In omnia paratus (anyone, anyone, Bueller?!). Anyway, fortunately this has yet to happen. I do have backup photographers that would be contacted if there were to be a series of unfortunate events.. But, in the event that didn't work, I am a member of a photographers groups that my husband could reach out to on my behalf. And, of course, you would also have the option to be refunded and find a replacement of your own choosing.
Is this your gentle way of asking if I have backups? You are just so kind! Of course I do! I shoot with all Nikon top of the line equipment and always always always bring backups of my bodies, lenses and batteries. Good for you bad for my back.
